- Abstract
This article cites a research study focusing on tender acral blister in a bone marrow transplant recipient. The patient in this study was a 19 year old youth, who received high dose Cyclophosphamide and total body irradiation prior to an HLA-identical unrelated volunteer bone marrow transplant. Post transplant treatment cyclosporin and methotrexate was used to minimize the severity of graft versus host disease. He also developed both acute and chronic graft versus host disease with initially a widespread blothcy erythema. The complications were cleared after a course of ciprofloxacin 750 mg a day for one week and topical mupirocin ointment which was also used on the nasal mucosa.
