- Abstract
The article cites a research study by J.B. Kuzmiski et al. which investigates the physiopathology of the stress system and the cellular mechanism that lets a previous stressor to change the responsiveness to further stressors. The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis is said to mediate, in part, responses to stress. Kuzmiski et al. revealed how synaptic plasticity in the output nucleus of the HPA axis may contribute in previous stressor changing the responsiveness to further stressors.
