- Title
The enhanced oxidative stability of metallocene polyalphaolefin base stocks.
- Authors
Sheehan, Michael P.
- Abstract
The article discusses the oxidative stability of polyalphaolefin (PAO) base stocks which is used to formulating high performance lubricrants for automotive and industrial applications. Topics include the importance of oxidative stability in the breakdown of lubricants and formation of acidic byproducts, the molecular structure and metallocene catalysis of PAO, and the significant difference of metallocene PAO (mPAO) and conventional PAO (cPAO).
