- Title
Reconsidering Weber's The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism.
- Authors
STEIN, SOLOMON; STORR, VIRGIL HENRY
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the book "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism" by Max Weber is presented. Topics discussed include extensive debate concerning both the validity of the work's method and the accuracy of its substantive theses; the features of this asceticism resemble in large part the ethical orientation within Protestantism; and that capitalism is capable of a multiplicity of forms is conventional in the contemporary context.
