- Authors

- Abstract
1. This note replies to Lancaster and is primarily concerned with business saving. However, the methodological problems of transitory components in economic models are relevant to other economic relationships, especially to consumption functions. The theoretical discussion in Sections 2 to 4 is confined to absolute values, but the extension of the logarithmic model in presents no difficulties and has been set out in. Proofs of the results cited in this note may also be found in but it is likely that the mathematics will be well known to readers of the Review.
