- Abstract
The article focuses on the following of rules by an agent. It is stated that a rule followed by an agent plays an important role in the explanations of his or her actions. It discusses necessary conditions for following a rule by an agent. According to philosopher Saul Kripke, there can be no adequate account of rule-following. An overview of Kripke's arguments and dispositional accounts of rule-following is also presented.
