- Abstract
This article discusses the potential use of belatacept in pancreas transplant recipients. Belatacept has been successful in reducing certain complications in kidney transplant recipients, but its effectiveness in pancreas transplantation is not well-studied. The authors share their experience with eight pancreas transplant recipients who were switched to belatacept due to pancreas or kidney dysfunction. The results showed improvements in blood sugar levels and kidney function without any rejection or serious infections. While this study suggests that belatacept could be a promising option for pancreas transplant recipients, more research is needed. The article is available for use, distribution, and reproduction as long as the original authors and copyright owner are credited.
