Intoxicação por pesticidas anticolinesterásicos em cão.

- Abstract
A intoxicação por pesticidas anticolinesterásicos tem se tornado cada vez mais comum na rotina veterinária. Com isso, o objetivo deste trabalho foi relatar um caso de intoxicação por estes pesticidas em um cão, correlacionando sua evolução clínica com a mensuração da enzima butirilcolinesterase no soro do animal intoxicado. Foi atendido um cão, sem raça definida, macho, não castrado, 6 anos de idade e peso de 20,6 kg, com suspeita de intoxicação por pesticidas. A tutora relatou que o animal se envolveu em uma briga com outro cão 15 dias antes do atendimento e funcionários da propriedade estavam administrando desde então, por via tópica, um produto que em sua composição contém organofosforado (coumafós) e carbamato (propoxur). O animal chegou em estado de esturpor e foi encaminhado para o setor de emêrgencia, onde foi realizado todo o tratamento sintomático e administrado 0,022 mg/kg de atropina como antidoto parcial desta intoxicação. O paciente permaneceu sete dias internado e recebeu alta médica no sétimo dia devido a sua ótima evolução clínica. Durante o período de internação, coletou-se sangue do animal e realizou-se a mensuração sérica periódica da enzima butirilcolinesterase. Esta mensuração foi realizada do dia 1 ao dia 7, com exceção do dia 3. Como resultados destas análises foi possível observar um aumento gradual da butirilcolinesterase no decorrer dos dias que o animal permaneceu internado e este aumento foi acompanhado da melhora clínica do animal: no dia 1 o animal estava em estado de esturpor, com fraqueza muscular em todos os membros, presença de sinais clínicos muscarinicos e nicotínicos; no dia 7 o animal havia se recuperado de todos estes sinais, apresentando apenas dificuldade de deambulação. Concluiu-se que a enzima butirilcolinesterase, quando possível ser analisada periodicamente em animais intoxicados por pesticidas anticolinesterásicos, pode ser de grande valor clínico, podendo ser utilizada tanto como exame de triagem no primeiro momento do atendimento, como indicador de prognóstico para o quadro clínico do animal intoxicado, pois, como relatado neste caso, a melhora clínica do animal foi acompanhada pelo aumento significativo da butirilcolinesterase.
