- Abstract
The article studies the lethal and sublethal effects of chlorantraniliprole on three species of Rhagoletis fruit flies. A tarsal contact toxicity bioassay showed that some surface residue of chlorantraniliprole had higher mortality rate of male and female flies of all species compared with a control. Mortality was higher in male apple maggot and blueberry maggot than that for females, but mortality of male and female cherry fruit flies was similar. It was concluded that chloraniliprole has suppressant activity against Rhagoletis fruit lies which prevents fruit infestation through direct lethal effects.
