- Abstract
During our investigation of lignicolous freshwater fungi in northwestern Yunnan Province, China, three fresh collections were collected from Cangshan Mountain, Nujiang River and Lancang River. A new species Rostriconidium cangshanense is introduced based on morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis of combined ITS, LSU, SSU, TEF1-α, and RPB2 sequence data. Rostriconidium cangshanense is characterized by long macronematous, mononematous, smooth or rough-walled conidiophores; conidiogenous cells are polyblastic, dark brown, with black circle-peak shape conidiogenous scars; conidia are fusiform to obclavate, rostrate, 6–8-septate, guttulate, sometimes with an apical mucilaginous sheath. Rostriconidium pandanicola is reported as a new record for the freshwater habitat around the world.
