- Abstract
This article presents information on safety gloves that may prevent skin contact with epoxy resins. Allergic contact dermatitis to one of the components of epoxy resin systems especially the low molecular weight oligomers of biphenol A-type resins. Although measures are taken to prevent skin contact with epoxy resins during manufacture, there are still working environments in which skin contact with the resin system is almost inevitable. Patch tests were performed on the healthy back skin of 10 patients with a proven contact allergy to epoxy resin of bisphenol A-type. Epoxy resin, patch tested on material taken from the rubber gloves gave positive allergic reactions in 6 persons.
