- Abstract
A 77-year-old man with an urethral carcinoma underwent resection of the penis 10 years ago, requiring him to use Foley catheters (of various manufactures). 2 years ago, he developed a red papular rash on the lower abdomen and anterior right thigh, spreading to the waist and gluteal area. At that lime, he had been using a new catheter (Silastic Foley Catheter by Dow Corning Corporation Medical Products) which was more durable and needed less frequent replacement. Changing to a different brand cleared the dermatitis.
