- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on a cross-sectional study performed by Leiter and colleagues on 22,063 outpatients who were treated with statin. The author says that 41% of the patients had diabetes, while 48% were target of cholesterol and had lipid abnormalities. He mentions the Collaborative Atorvastatin Diabetes Study (CARDS) trial which documented that 20% of the patients on statin were not taking their medication.
