- Abstract
The article discusses the diagnosis of coelic disease (CD) in which no association that has been linked between villous atrophy and mortality in the disease. It notes that about 26% of patients with CD had a follow-up biopsy resulting to the ascertainment bias of the results. It states that mucosal healing in CD can be emphasized and monitored through the small bowel biopsy. It indicates that osteoporosis, CD refractory and malignancies are associated with the persistent villous atrophy.
