The article comments on a study concerning localized pigmentation disorder, caused after subcutaneous pegylated interferon beta 1a(IFNβ-1a) injection. Topics discussed include challenges associated with the use of beta interferon therapies for multiple sclerosis (MS) care such as adherence rates, side effects, and others; efficacy of PLEGRIDY (peginterferon beta 1a) for the treatment of MS; and the cause of subcutaneous skin reactions associated with IFNβ-1a.
