- Abstract
In an article published in Advanced Energy Materials, researchers Mingwu Xiang, Junming Guo, Shulei Chou, and their colleagues discuss their study on improving the performance of lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. They used melamine foam to create a nitrogen-doped carbon functional interlayer with a TiO2/TiN heterostructure. This interlayer helps balance the surface adsorption and conversion of polysulfides in the Li-S battery, leading to improved battery performance. The researchers also found that the carbon foam skeletons in the interlayer create a highly conductive network for fast transmission of lithium ions and electrons.
