- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examines the sustainability of the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) of the American College of Surgeons, which is designed to measure and improve surgical care process. The study uses a retrospective analysis for patients with vascular surgery site infections (VSSIs) and postoperative patient requiring ventilator support. The study also highlights the significant morbidity of surgical site infections and prolonged mechanical ventilation.
