- Abstract
The article reflects on the applicability and availability of mechanical ventilation (MV) on patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in 2035. It discusses the importance of providing MV on ARDS patients but mentions the benefits of using extracorporeal life support (ECLS) and the possibility for MV to be used until 2035. It cites the development of safer MV that would decrease the need for the ECLS.
