- Title
Early identification of the potential organ donor: fundamental role of intensive care or conflict of interest?
- Authors
Bell, M. D. Dominic
- Abstract
The author comments on the intensive care and cadaveric organ donation as well as establishing compatibility of principles between intensive care and transplantation services, with reference to an article within this issue. He says that new pressures are being created on critical care as transplantation evolved from experimental to mainstream treatment. According to him, the main objective of intensive care is to treat potentially reversible disease or injury actively.
