- Abstract
The article offers information on the judicial decisions of the Court of Appeals of the New York in the case of People v. Crampe, in which the Court makes a searching inquiry of the defendant Alexander Crampe's right to counsel. It analyzes the difference between the Sixth Amendment's right to counsel and a criminal defendantes right to self-representation under the federal principles of the U.S. Supreme Court and Constitution, common law of New York and the New York State Constitution.
