- Abstract
The article focuses on osteoporotic hip fracture and the affect of cortical and trabecular bone on the strength and stability of the femoral neck. The research method includes the removal of trabecular bone from paired human cadavers and the testing of loading capacity in a model that produces fractures. The conclusion is that cortical bone is a greater determinant of bone strength than trabecular bone.
