The article focuses on the decrease in legal counsel access for misdemeanor defendants in the U.S. Topics include an individual's constitutional right to legal representation if accused of a crime, the risk of inaccurate convictions, and the failure for jurisdictions to provide adequate counsel. Information is provided on the states that do not provide legal representation with those accused of misdemeanors.
