- Title
Got (rbST-free) Milk?' The Sixth Circuit Overturns Ohio's Milk Labeling Restrictions.
- Authors
Au, Tony
- Abstract
The article discusses the claims by the International Dairy Foods Association and the Organic Trade Association on the regulations imposed by the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) that prohibited dairy processors from stating that their milk products do not contain recombinant bovine somatotropin (rbST). The U.S. Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit found that the ODA rule's disclosure requirement for production claims was reasonably related to the state's interest in preventing consumer deception.
