- Authors
Check, Erika
- Abstract
The article reports on the developments and problems encountered by scientists in cloning. Scientists were able to clone transgenic pigs, cows and goats that produce proteins lacking in humans and might be used as organ donors. However, the low efficiency of the cloning process has resulted to the closure of companies set up to commercialize cloning. Meanwhile, it is projected that the field of cloning is moving into the direction of reprogramming cells without using eggs.
