- Authors
BRODY, SUSAN L.
- Abstract
The article examines whether the female character of Bella Swan in the film "Twilight" pose more disadvantage than benefit to the millions of teenage readers who unfortunately mistake Bella as a heroine. It argues whether the character of Bella offers young readers with guidance and healthy role modeling about finding themselves and relationships. According to author, Stephanie Meyer, the film also conveys healthy messages for women including self-reliance, independence, and self-discovery.
