- Abstract
The article presents a seroprevalance study of meliodosis in Gabon from 2012-2013. The study examines the clinical, environmental and serologic of the disease by screening all febrile patients via blood cultures and Burkholderia pseudomallei and other species like B. thailandensis, and determining whether it can be isolated from soil. The lack of diagnostic microbiology facilities in Central Africa reportedly hinders the diagnosis of the disease.
