- Abstract
An essay on the need for mutual accountability among Christian sects attempting to achieve unity is presented. The author specifically focuses on the importance of mutual accountability regarding baptism to the unity promoted by the ecumenical movement. He also describes the development of mutual accountability within ecumenism over the course of the 20th century, noting the creation of the World Council of Churches (WCC) and dialogue between Pentecostal and Evangelical Protestants.
