Here, we describe two case reports presenting monoclonal proteins in the alpha region, which represent around 0.01% of all monoclonal components identified at the San Gerardo Hospital, Monza (Italy), from 2015 to 2019, when capillary electrophoresis was introduced as protein separation method in the laboratory (Capillarys, Sebia SP ® sp ). The introduction of capillary electrophoresis improved the accuracy of protein electrophoresis, allowing a more sensitive and specific detection of protein abnormalities.
