- Abstract
Objective The significant development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) have been utilized in avariety of fields, especially in healthcare industry. It is the AI that has the power to handle integrated complex logic and programming rapidly to provide associated support or generate answers or process behaviors. This brings information synthesizing experience, which is available when needed. AI has higher efficiency within a shorter time. Some researches tend to focus on improving a large amount of data available on patients to optimize clinical workflows and thus improve clinical outcomes. It is highlighted that the significance nursing work in healthcare and the potential impact of AI technology on this field should not be underestimated. Critical care nurses need to focus on all aspects of patient's condition, such as monitoring vital signs, administering medication and providing emotional support. This article aims to present an overview of AI application in ICUs and other AI medicine-related topics relevant to healthcare, and discuss nursing practice in the future.
