- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the synergistic effect of P-Si on the flame retardancy of epoxy resins (EP) as compared with the conventional caged bicyclic phosphate (PEPA) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) flame retardants (FRs) system. It indicates that incorporating phosphorous, silicon or both into EP can produce halogen-free FR EP. Caged bicyclic phosphase has a role in the improvement of flame retardancy and thermal stablity of silicate and silicophosphate.
