- Title
LAWYERING FOR CHILDREN IN HIGH-CONFLICT CASES.
- Authors
May, James C.; Banks, Alexander W.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the efforts of the local government in Vermont to provide counsel for children who suffered from difficulty and bitterly contested family legal disputes. It discusses the creation of the Children First! Legal Advocacy Project (CF!) by the South Royalton Legal Clinic (SRLC) in 2000. In addition, it highlights the establishment of the Attorneys for Children program by the Vermont judiciary in 2002. The authors concluded that legislatures and attorneys in Vermont should work together to improve the availability and quality of legal representations for children involved in disputes.
