- Abstract
The article focuses on former U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens and his legacy as an immigration law advocate. Topics include his decision in the U.S. Supreme Court case Hampton v. Mow Sun Won, his call for federal impartiality regarding immigrant employment law, and the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution. Information is provided on due process rights, the enforcement of anti-persecution statutes, and the risk of deportation for immigrants in the U.S. The author states that Stevens demonstrated empathy and compassion during his time on the Supreme Court.
