- Abstract
The article focuses on the findings of a study that compared the effectiveness of once-daily (OD) glargine (GLA)+prandial regular human insulin (RHI) with OD GLA+prandial lispro (LIS) in reducing the incidence of severe nocturnal hypoglycemia at endpoint. The research suggests that the OD GLA+LIS regimen is more effective in achieving good glycemic control when switched from NPH insulin+RHI using a stepwise approach of changing basal insulin first and then bolus insulin.
