- Abstract
In 12 years, from autumn 1995 to harvest 2007, herbicide-free plots were installed in a long-term field trial on the Dahnsdorf field site of the Julius Kühn-Institute. Since autumn 2007, these plots have been again treated with herbicides. The Dahnsdorf field site is located in the federal state of Brandenburg, in the so-called nature region "Hoher Fläming". The region is characterized by frequent early summer drought. In order to identify the differences between the previously untreated plots (1995 to 2007) and the plots always treated with herbicides, each year the species and the density of weeds are recorded before the herbicide treatments. Weed investigations are carried out either in autumn or spring. After more than a decade since the field trial was changed, differences in weed emergence between previously untreated and treated variants can still be seen. These differences still have a strong effect on the emergence of dicotyledonous weeds, whereas these differences no longer exist for the monocotyledonous weeds. The dominant monocotyledonous weed is Apera spica-venti.
