- Abstract
The article discusses a study on how substituting sedentary time (ST) with sleep, light activity or moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) may affect self-regulation and executive functioning (EF) in older adults. Topics mentioned include the beneficial effects of shifting time from sitting to sleep on the reaction time for more challenging tasks, and the association of the substitution of ST with MVPA or sleep and spatial working memory.
