- Abstract
The authors convey their response to a feedback on their report on developing aggregate-based models based on a view of soil aggregates as biogeochemical reactors in the context of soil heterogeneity. Topics include indeterminacies of size and boundary conditions of aggregate reactors, aggregates as biogeochemical reactors in which biogeochemical reactions transpire, and quantification of soil system functioning as an emergent property of finer scale processes.
