- Abstract
The article discusses Nepal's success in improving maternal health which is attributed to several factors that include free delivery services, transport incentives and access to safe delivery services. It notes that ore women in Nepal are giving birth in a health facility than at home which is another factor that has reduced the risk of postpartum haemorrhage which is the leading cause of maternal deaths worldwide. It cites the need for incentives to get midwives work in the areas where needed.
