- Abstract
The increasing demand for electricity in all gulf states, in particular the Sultanate of Oman, is reminding energy sector to verify their productivity as well as their consumption levels of late. Lack of knowledge about the electrical energy consumption and generation levels results in lavish utilization thereby leading to shortage of electrical power. Load data are mandatory for determining and regulating the demands to produce electricity that meets the required level. This paper proposed an analytical model for the utilities to aid in the supply of generated electricity in such a way that the energy is distributed without any insufficiency of usage for the rural and urban regions. The aim of the model is to recommend the solutions for end-users so that the appliances considered as less significant may be shutdown. The energy consumed by these appliances is equalized with the energy consumed by appliances which are considered to be inevitable. A case study is presented in paper to shutdown the 25 kWh of energy from households at rural and urban area during weekdays and weekends. The MATLAB codes are developed to implement the proposed model to simulate the solutions by recommending shutdown of less significant household appliances to achieve declared target.
