- Abstract
The article discusses the preparing of the Hawthorn polyphenol (HP) by ethyl acetate treatment of the ethanol extract (HE) of Chinese hawthorn fruit, Crataegus pinnatifida. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) determined the concentrations of 15 polyphenols in the HP, HE, extraction residue (HJ) and hawthorn leaf extract (HF). Furthermore , the seven different physiological actions of the four extracts were investigated and the active constituents have appeared to be procyanidins.
