- Title
Clinical pharmacology at its best: some encounters in the past.
- Authors
Offerhaus, Leo
- Abstract
The article focuses on clinical pharmacology. It has been suggested that clinical pharmacology cannot survive as a medical discipline as its practitioners do not treat particular categories of patients unlike physicians in clinical medicine like endocrinology. Although the rise of clinical pharmacology in the 1960s was due to the interest of pharmacologists, the main reason was clinician's specific interest in diseases which proved amenable to drug treatment.
