- Abstract
In view of the problem that natural sand is increasingly exhausted, Yellow River sand and desert sand were used to replace natural sand to prepare mortar respectively. The strength development mechanism of the two kinds of mortar was revealed from the macro and micro perspectives by means of scanning electron microscope ( SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer ( EDS) and back scatter electrons ( BSE) and elemental scanning microscopic characterization and mechanical strength test. The results show that the ettringite ( AFt) and calcium silicate hydrate ( C-S-H) at the interface of cement sand in the desert sand system are well developed, and a large number of layered Ca(OH)2 are closely accumulated in the early stage of curing, strengthening the interface structure of cement sand. The Ca / Si ratio of desert sand mortar increased by 1. 64 with age, and the Ca / Si ratio of Yellow River sand mortar increased by 0. 52, effectively ensuring its strength stability; Desert sand particles have strong cohesiveness, fully fill the pores of mortar interface, optimize the compactness of mortar structure, and thus improve its mechanical strength.
