- Title
EL CORDERO Y EL LEÓN. CIENCIA Y RELIGIÓN EN STEPHEN JAY GOULD.
- Authors
Artigas, Mariano
- Abstract
In two of his latest books, Stephen Jay Gould, the famous biologist of Harvard University, who died in 2002, dealt with the relationship between the sciences, the humanities, and religion. His proposal of two "non-overlapping magisteria" (science and religion) has reached a wide echo, and has been generally criticized from both perspectives. Here this proposal is analyzed, highlighting its valid aspects and those that could be explained better, in an attempt to show that it is a valid point of departure in order to establish a dialogue that respects the diversity, which is surely what Gould wanted.
