- Abstract
The authors discuss a study on the relation between absolute neutrophil counts (ANC) and platelet counts in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome. Topics covered include marrow blasts in the patients following AML induction therapy, reduced complete remission (CR) rates by low platelet counts, and the association of longer relapse-free survival with time to count recovery in patients achieving CR and levels of counts at CR.
