Obsidian in the Early Neolithic of the Upper Vistula basin: origin, processing, distribution and use – a case study from Tominy (southern Poland).

- Abstract
L'apparition de l'obsidienne sur les territoirs situés au nord des Carpates et des Sudètes a été confirmée déjà à l'époque du Paléolithique, mais son importation majeure sur ces terrains date du début du Néolithique, et plus précisément de la fin du VI ième et du début du V ième millénaire AC (Avant Christ). Ce phénomène était strictement lié avec l'expansion des peuples danubes sur les territoires du bassin supérieur de la Vistule, et plus particuliérement avec le développement de la culture de la céramique linéaire (la culture rubanée) (LBK), ainsi que de la culture de la région de Malice. La présence des objets produits à partir de l'obsidienne y a été attestée à l'époque de la phase centrale de la culture de la céramique linéaire, ce qui constitue une des preuves des contacts interculturels intenses entretenus avec les peuples vivant au nord du Bassin de Carpates (la partie nord-est de la Slovaquie et de la Hongrie). Cet aspect était souvent mis en évidence dans les publications scientifiques. Une collection considérable d' objets de la céramique linéaire a été découverte et documentée au Sud de la Pologne, sur le site archéologique nr 6 de Tominy, situé sur les sols limono-sableux (argilo-sableux), en amont du Plateau de Sandomierz. La description de cette collection, accompagnée des résultats d' Analyse d'activation par rayons gamma rapides (Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis – PGAA) et de l'analyse traceologique, constitue la problématique esssentielle de cet article. En outre, nous avons essayé de compléter l'état de recherche concernant la problématique de l'importation de l'obsédienne vers les régions situées au Nord des Carpates au début du Néolithique, ainsi que d'approfondir la question de l'origine de cette matière, de son traitement, sa distribution et son utilisation par les peuples relevant de la culture de la céramique linéaire.
