The article highlights major issues that affected the lives of indigenous peoples in Nicaragua in 2018. It discusses the indigenous YATAMA party's clash with the government, land encroachment on indigenous and Afro-descendant communities, and popular uprising in the indigenous districts of Monimbo, Masaya and Sutiaba, Leon calling for the resignation of President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo.
