- Abstract
This article discusses the Estudio Sociolingüístico del Español de Chile (Sociolinguistic Study of Chilean Spanish) research project in Santiago, Chile. The authors comment on the research completed during the period from 2005-2012 on the spoken Spanish of Chile. They also describe the methodology that was utilized, which included oral interviews, as well as an analysis of socioeconomic factors, age, and education level of each participant. Variations in the Spanish spoken by the research subjects are also examined.
