- Abstract
The authors emphasize the importance of sharing the expertise or resources regarding wildlife disease infection and transmission among countries to improve the response capacity of the global community. They relate the role of wildlife species in the recent outbreaks of zoonotic diseases. Examples of human diseases derived from wild animals include AIDS, avian influenza and Nile fever. They argue that wildlife disease infection and transmissions can pose risks across continents in line with the presence of pathogens in migratory species.
