- Abstract
This article, published in Indian Pediatrics, discusses a rare congenital condition called isolated severe congenital penile torsion. Penile torsion is a rotational defect of the penile shaft and glans, usually in a counter clockwise direction, that is often associated with other conditions such as hypospadias and chordee. However, isolated penile torsion can occur as a separate entity. This case study describes a 12-year-old boy with a 180-degree penile torsion who experienced difficulty in passing urine and discomfort during erection. The least invasive approach, involving degloving and skin over correction, was used to correct the torsion with satisfactory results. The article provides valuable information for researchers and medical professionals studying this condition.
