- Abstract
Objective: Formulate an explanatory model in the self-perception of teacher preparation to face the educational challenges of the COVID-19 health emergency in Mexican teachers of general basic education, who started the 2020-2021 academic year in virtual classrooms. Method: The research was carried out by means of a non-experimental design with an explanatory scope. The incidental sample was made up of 2010 teachers from 15 states of the Mexican Republic. The data was collected through an ad hoc questionnaire made up of 15 prompt questions in three categories: Devices and Connectivity, Family and Institutional Support and Training. After confirming the relationship between teacher preparation and the rest of the variables, a multiple linear regression analysis was performed using the stepwise method. Results: A model of nine variables was obtained which explained 34.4% of the variance. Discussion y Conclusion: It was confirmed that achieving mastery of using remote communication tools, having the necessary technological devices and resources, undertaking self-management training actions and perceiving appropriate institutional and family support are factors that explain the self-perception of teacher preparation when carrying out remote teaching activities.
