- Abstract
The article presents the prevalence of obesity is due to changes in the exposure to environmental factors, a reduction in physical activity and increased availability and reduced costs of energy dense food. The obesity genes if discovered would lead to health benefits. Studies in genetics reveal that genetic mutations lead to human obesity and genes influence human eating behavior. The discoveries in human genetics would lead to understanding of energy levels and help the development of drugs.
